COLONIAL HEIGHTS
COMMONWEALTH'S ATTORNEY
The
Commonwealth's Attorney
is a constitutional officer and is elected to a four-year term by the voters.
The office is
responsible for providing legal representation in the prosecution of all
criminal cases in the General District Courts, Circuit Courts, and
Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts in the City of Colonial Heights.
The
primary goal of this office is to prosecute criminal
acts and promote justice. In addition to obtaining
appropriate punishment for those who violate the
criminal law, part of the duties of this office include
protecting the rights of the innocent. We also assist
victims and witnesses who come into contact with the
criminal justice system.
William B. Bray serves as Colonial Heights
Commonwealth's Attorney and was elected to the office in
2005.
