VIRGINIA STATE INCOME TAX

The Commissioner's staff assists Colonial Heights residents in filing their Virginia estimated and annual income tax returns.  If you have a computer and have access to the World Wide Web, you can obtain most Virginia income tax forms and file online by connecting to:  www.tax.virginia.gov.  Follow the instructions explained by the Virginia Department of Taxation.

  • I live in another state but worked in Virginia and had Virginia taxes withheld from my paycheck in error. What form do I file to get back the withholding?

    Answer:  Virginia Form 763-S, a special non-resident claim form

  • I live in another state and I have rental property and/or business income from Virginia. What form do I file?

    Answer:  Virginia Form 763, a non-resident tax return

  • I moved into or out of Virginia 6 months ago from another state. What tax return do I file?

    Answer:  Virginia form 760PY, Virginia part-year resident return

  • Where do I mail my completed refund or tax due return?

    Answer:  Virginia Department of Taxation
