The Adopt-A-Roadway Program completed its annual
Spring Clean up on April 25, 2009. There were
approximately 100 persons in attendance at the
Senior Citizen’s side of the Community Building.
Coffee and pastries were served; safety vests, trash
bags, and T-shirts were given out the morning of the
clean up.
The Mayor
welcomed everyone Saturday morning. He
addressed the new Adopt-A-Waterway program and the
new safety vest to be worn when working on major
right-of-ways. He thanked all in attendance for
coming out to pick up litter.
The participants represented civic
groups, churches, individuals and businesses. A
collection of 50, 33-gallon trash bags of litter was
disposed of in the day’s activities.
All participants
received a vehicle litter bag for a job well done
helping to keep our City clean.
