Fridays and Saturdays,
8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, excluding
holidays.

Services
The City of
Colonial Heights operates a Recycling Center. Valid proof of city residency is required to dispose of
materials at the Recycling Center.
Curbside recycling is
offered to all City residents. Small businesses and
apartment complexes that do not have curbside services can bring
their recyclables to the center.
The following
materials are now accepted at the Recycling Center:

NOTE:
Chlorofluorocarbons (commonly known as Freon) must be safely removed
from all appliances before disposal at the Recycling Center. There is a
$10.00 fee for this service, payable to the City Treasurer in advance at
the City Treasurer’s Office, 201 James Avenue, Colonial Heights, VA.
Proof of payment (receipt)
must be shown to the
Recycling Center Attendant before disposal.
In addition to
Recycling Center operation, the City contracts through CVWMA for
curbside and drop-off recycling services. Click

all recycling services are available to Colonial Heights residents.
Recycling Center
Restrictions

Disposal of liquid quantities of recycled materials is limited to 5
quarts (160 ounces) per day per disposal.

Disposal of organic waste consisting of stumps, trees and tree limbs is
limited to materials having diameters less than six inches.

Disposal of insecticides, poisons, acids and other caustic compounds,
appliances containing Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCB's) or other toxic
materials is prohibited. For disposal options, please call the Central
Virginia Waste Management Authority at 800-732-3493 or Safety-Kleen at
804-748-3767.

Disposal of electronic devices including, but not limited to
televisions, cell phones, computers or monitors at the Recycling
Center is prohibited.
