The City of Colonial Heights' Convenience Center is located off Dimmock Parkway & Southpark Boulevard near the animal shelter.

This refuse collection facility is open on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Solid vegetative waste consisting of stumps, trees and tree limbs greater than six inches in diameter are not accepted at the Convenience Center.  Loose leaves and yard waste, including brush under six inches in diameter, shall be cut to six feet in length and hand placed in open top refuse containers, or where instructed by the attendant.

Dispose of hazardous waste products in an environmentally safe manner - please don't put these products down the drain or on the ground. The Convenience Center does not accept hazardous waste materials such as insecticides, gasoline, kerosene, paint thinners or other petroleum products. 

The Convenience Center does accept:

• Motor Oil
• Oil Filters
• Anti-Freeze
• Oil Additives

Motor oil and anti-freeze shall be limited to 5 gallons per day.  No drums or open containers will be accepted.

Please help us reduce operating costs:  All latex paint may be air dried by placing kitty litter in the can and then place the paint can in CVWMA trash can for pick up by BFI, in limited quantities.

We cannot accept insecticides, poisons, acids, PCB's, or caustic compounds.  Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCB's) were used in household appliances that contained oil-filled capacitors prior to 1979.  After 1979, capacitors and transformers have "NO PCB's" stamped on its casing.  If you have these compounds please call the Central Virginia Waste Management Authority at 1-800-732-3493 or Safety-Kleen at 804-748-3767.

Disposal Charges Effective July 3, 2007

All residential brush, tree limbs, leaves, grass and other clippings are FREE to residents.  Proof of residence in the City is required for all dumping.  Commercial operators will be charged for disposal of these materials.

All bulk items like appliances will be charged the current rates.

New charges for solid waste loads: 

All payments will be made by cash or check before the load is dumped.

COMMERCIAL rates for removal and disposal of refuse deposited at the Trash Transfer Station are:

Rental Units are deemed commercial.
Residents residing in rental residential units are deemed to be non-commercial.
