Picnic
Pavilions may be reserved beginning the first working day of January
(current year) for all Parks. Pavilions, which may be reserved, are 2
Large Pavilions at White Bank Park, 1 Pavilion at Berberich Park (Fort
Clifton), and 1 Pavilion at Lakeview Park. Individual Pavilions at White
Bank Park, and Berberich Park (Fort Clifton), which seat up to 8 people,
are available on first come first serve basis. Grills are provided as
well as trash receptacles. Park restrooms
and electricity are available for use April 1-October 31 only.

White Bank
Park:
The park consists of 22
acres which overlook Swift Creek, and is located across from Tussing
Elementary School on White Bank Park Road. The park includes two picnic
pavilions which accommodate 200 - 300 people each, and 8 individual picnic
shelters for smaller groups. It also provides the following:
- 2 Horseshoe Pits

- 2 Playground Areas
- Restrooms
- 2 Volleyball Courts
- Multi-Purpose Play

Berberich Park
/ Fort Clifton:
Behind Tussing School on
Brockwell Lane - 24 Acres overlooking the Appomattox River 1 Picnic
Pavilion (accommodates 60 people)
Earthworks criss-cross
Park as site of Fort Clifton where 5 Union ships sailed Confederate Troops
on June 11, 1864. The Confederate Battery with cannon emplacements
remained in Confederate hands as the cannons drove the Union attackers
away. Site of Fort Clifton Arts &
Crafts Festival each May.

The park also provides

Lakeview Park:
Located at Swift Creek
Lake on Lake Avenue off the Boulevard - 2.7 Acres on Swift Creek Lake. 1
Picnic Pavilion (accommodates 60 people). No gasoline powered boats
allowed. The park also provides the following:
- Boat Ramp/Canoe Launch
- Fishing Dock
- Tennis Courts
- Playground Equipment
- Water/Electricity
- Individual Picnic
Tables (seats 6-8 people)
Lakeview Park has been
developed through Community Donations from Civic Organizations, Businesses
and Individuals with less than 5% of City Funds being utilized in its
development.

War Memorial
Located on the Boulevard
between Lee Avenue and Lafayette Avenue - .50 Acres - a Memorial Tribute
to the Military Personnel who passed away serving their Country
courageously and with Honor.
Services
are held each Memorial Day and Veterans Day by the Veterans of Foreign War
and American Legion. |
