The Colonial Heights Registrar is appointed
for a four year term by a three member Electoral Board of the City. The
Registrar is charged with carrying out the directives
of the State Board
of Elections, the Commonwealth of Virginia Election Code and the governing
body of the City of Colonial Heights to serve
the voters of the City in
the most effective manner possible.
Colonial Heights is an
independent city located 25 miles south of Richmond with a population of
approximately 17,700 with 11,954 registered voters. The city is in the:

Voter registration is
available in person or by mail, at DMV offices and State Agencies, as well
as most libraries. Party affiliation is not required in Virginia. Names of
candidates are listed on the ballot in an order determined by lot (except
in Primaries). Candidates are listed on the ballot with party affiliation
except in local City Council and School Board elections. Names and
