Six Minimum Control Measures
Under the NPDES permitting system, municipalities like Colonial Heights are required to undertake and utilize six minimum control measures to ensure that they ‘cover the gambit’ of storm water point and non-point sources. These six include:
Public education and outreach
Public involvement and participation
Illicit discharge detection and elimination
Construction site runoff control
Post-construction storm water management
Pollution prevention/good housekeeping
